Wow. How the heck did they do that?
So, your opinions: Does the fact that everyone's brands are gone now mean that their powers as L'Cie are gone too? I'm inclined to think yes, that their brands were the source of their power, but that's going to make life on Gran Pulse interesting. I mean, considering that some of the monsters there are just barely survivable for very powerful L'Cie and all... not having their magical powers and boosted abilities anymore is going to make their lives a lot more difficult. Especially Hope, who pretty much relied on magic by the game's design for most of the game.
Anyway. It took me a while to figure out what they were all planning to DO in Orphan's Cradle. And, you know, the whole thing with Fang agreeing to be Ragnarok and then everyone becoming Cie'th - the only way that makes ANY sense is the theory that them becoming Cie'th was some sort of trick on the big bad's part.
As for the ending itself... awww. Fang and Vanille are locked in stasis and there are no Fal'Cie to bring them back. But yay for Serah and Dajh surviving. I do wish that we'd seen something of Hope's father, though. Would like to think he shows up at some point.
On the whole, I enjoyed it. It had its flaws, but I liked the story enough to stay interested to the end. Haven't decided if I'm going to do more after this - maybe not for a while. There are other games I want to play, on the one hand; on the other hand, though, I want to see the rest of the Analects, and in order to get those I have to finish missions. Also, I need to look up more about the other games that are going to be in this series.
