This is exactly why I chose one of the lower-end habit pledges. I knew I'd end up taking some breaks.

Since I forgot to post about it earlier, I'm currently at nine out of ten days for the month. I didn't work on much of anything from the 13th to the 17th. Yesterday I wrote a fic for a tumblr comment (will post later to other journal) and today (1/19) I filled an old prompt, here. I actually did write on the 12th, a short story about an original character in SWTOR taking care of a little girl, but I am waiting to post that one until I get permission from the people who created the little girl.

I'll try to do more than one day between today (1/20) and the end of the month, but I've got a lot of work to do. No promises.

Writing-related work for getyourwordsout:

- Wrote a drabble for the old prompts from fic_promptly. I've posted it on personalapocalypse here.

Type of work: Writing

I figure, writing a drabble or two is a good goal to get back into writing, especially now when I often feel like I'm just out of ideas.

Writing work done today:

- Found my Google Document files of rainbowfic attempts that I haven't worked with lately. I'd like to try to move on with some of the story ideas that I was working on in the past, creating some outlines and figuring out where they are going.
- I found a story that I had started on several years ago and started plotting it out again - I had a piece of paper talking about where I wanted to go with it once upon a time, but now I can't find it, and I want to continue with it because of my usual love for post-apocalyptic fantasy and possession and such. I might post an outline later.

Type: Plotting, outlining, some writing.

Still considering posting examples but that can be later. Last night was a long night (bf prepping for a medical procedure) and we are resting now.

I signed up for getyourwordsout a couple of days ago (I'd been regretting not signing up before, but it turned out to not be too late.) I went for 150k but I'm kind of regretting not going for 75k; I think that full-time classes count as extenuating circumstances, at least. Still, we'll see what happens.

I have no idea what my count is so far. I'll have to take a look at what I've already done to know that. So far my best plan for this months is to look back at old drafts and do complete rewrites of them. Possibly do the same for February, as well, but in March I have something else on my mind. (Multiamory March stuff, naturally.)

I'll come up with better goals this weekend, when I'm not worried about classes. Probably a more coherent post, too.

That rant I've been talking about... I've been spending so much time thinking about it, and honestly, I really think that I've been chasing a pipe dream for far too many years.
