I don't get to game very much during the school year. Catching up a bit during the summer. I played Beneath a Steel Sky and finished it fairly quickly (it's an old-school adventure game, and a darkly-funny one, although I was rather distracted by the fact that no one had an Australian accent despite the game being set in Australia.)

Games to play/finish soon:
- Might and Magic: World of XEEN (PC. I'm done with Clouds and one dungeon away from finishing Darkside, and haven't touched the World content yet. I don't know to what extent I'm going to do the Dungeon of Death. The first level is fun, but I seem to remember the second-to-last level being tedious.)
- Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth (PSP, Normal/Ending B. I'll do an A Ending run on hard mode later. Honestly I'm amazed I don't have saves from hard mode... did I not play through this game on this memory stick before...?)
- Breath of Fire (SNES, playing on Wii U)
- Transistor (PS4. I've finished once and am working on the first recursion; I just need to get back to it and kill the final boss.)
- Dishonoured (PS3. I want a no-kills low-chaos playthrough, but I'm not gonna worry about being spotted. Just watching my SO do a Ghost playthrough was excruciating.)
- Final Fantasy X-2 (PS3 remaster. I got distracted by the ridiculous arena mode and giving all of the monsters doge meme names, so I should get back to the game so I can see the actual plot. I'm probably strong enough with some of the dress spheres that I can do a lot of damage, and low-level enough that I'm not going to break the game completely.)

There's more, but that's probably enough.

I want to catch up with that series someday! I've played the first game (a long time ago) and tried to play the second before my 3DS died. Hopefully I'll play it again once I can get done with the first one; I think it's on Wii U. :)

— Good to bump into another M&M fan, but dare I ask how you feel about Swords of Xeen?

— Don't think I've done Hard Mode on VP before. Then again, I've not beaten Star Ocean 2 on a difficulty higher than Earth, either.

— I love the original Breath of Fire. It seems pretty conventional until about the halfway point, but, as soon as the villains get their stuff together, it really takes off. Underrated.

— And I have the Vita version of Final Fantasy X-2 ... theoretically. They give you FFX, but then make X-2 download-only. :-| Uncool. I wish I had waited for the PS4 version of the remasters.

• To be honest, I haven't played Swords of Xeen in so long that I can't remember much about it. I think I have it on GOG, so I should download it and play it once I finish Castle Alamar. I'm pretty sure that you can use the heroes from WoX and get stuff from it, although I have no idea how that'll work with GOG stuff.

• I just really love the VP:L Hard Mode dungeons. There are eight that you can only get on Hard Mode and a lot of them have really great themes/stories (and then you play VP:S and meet some of the people behind some of the various dungeons, and it's a great little touch!) They are tough, though, especially the Tombs of Amenti - it's the only dungeon where I've had a hard time getting out! Thank goodness for the Dimension Slip.

• I played it years ago, and I really liked the first one! And what I played of the second one, too. I think I remember trying to play BoF3 when I first got a PSX but not really feeling it at the time, but I hope I can try it again sometime.

• Wait, what? I am kind of glad I don't have a Vita. ;p (My SO got the PS3 version for my birthday a few years back. At some point I still wanna play more FFX and play around a bit more with the battle arena. I tend to get distracted by those, I have found. Although I will probably never have the patience to get most of the best weapons... dodging lightning is for the birds.)

Hmm, I'd forgotten that GOG had M&M titles. I've got them on UPlay, the proprietary Ubisoft launcher, in a collector's set that includes the first six games, and then several of the others separately. The UPlay version has the two original Xeen game pre-merged into the Worlds format, and then includes Swords, too, but I've not tried importing anything into that.

I'm also playing FFX-2 (for the first time, I had started it a while back, died in Bevelle before I found a save point and had to go to grad school before I could finish it). IT'S SO FUN. I'm not really being hardcore about getting 100% (because New Game+) and it's just so wonderful.

Drak had be play Breath of Fire III and IV, and they were also wonderful.

I was enjoying X-2 when I started it. I just get sidetracked easily. (Also I kept hearing that you needed to be careful about overleveling but still wanted to level my spheres, and the arena would let you do that.) But I seem to recall my first reaction to the game as, "Wow, two-party political systems ruin everything."

Not that I didn't already know that. XD

I think I still have a screenshot on personalapocalypse somewhere. Brother was "Wow." XD
