That was a super interesting read. I know so many people that love to write redeemable villains with bad backstories and sometimes that just gets so old. I think it is super cool that you write them the way you do.
I think a lot of people see a villain and either decide that they're complete monsters who are irredeemable, or good kids who just need some love or whatever. I think of it more as villains as people, by and large, who have made some fucked up decisions... but they are their decisions. At the same time they are by and large still human beings, and it's more fascinating to look into their minds and figure out their reasons.
(You're always going to have the ones that just want to watch the world burn, but they're not quite as interesting either, not to me.)
