fantasybigbang story soon, hopefully tonight. I have been having the hardest time with motivation! I am really hoping to be done with the rough draft by the end of September, and not just mostly done, but it's not gonna happen if I don't get on the ball. I've been having a hard time writing anything, though. I'm trying to jump-start myself somehow; I ended up writing two and a half notebook pages of stuff from the point of view of an NPC from an old Shadowrun game I ran once. I'll have to send it to a couple of people, especially considering that at least one of the player characters is going to probably end up involved in this story, should I continue it. It's not what I'm supposed to be writing, but it's writing, and it's hopefully going to get me started.
(I had a fairly long ME2 rant that I was going to type up but it really just felt like a fan putting WAY more thought into something than the writers had ever intended, and so I finally stoppd. One-sentence summary: It really didn't make sense to me that the drell expressed sadness by shedding tears, considering that the drell are apparently reptilian, and that the main association that comes to mind when thinking about reptiles that are known to shed tears is an expression of hypocrisy and false sorrow. I was going to go on and on about symbolism and providing points of reference to the human audience by using human mannerisms, but I was having trouble being coherent. Maybe another time.)
