I have come to the conclusion that playing myself in an RPG is far too depressing to keep up for long. Especially a game which is basically about being kidnapped, tortured for who knows how long, changed into something other than human, and then finally escaping to learn that your life has essentially been twisted around and ruined by someone who looks just like you.

But enough about my evening. How was yours?

That's what usually happens to normal people get involved with less than normal ones. You totally need to grow yourself some superpowers. (Plus, they'd probably come in handy in real life, too.)

My evening (yesterday, because it's not evening yet today) was nice. Got some writing done, had tea. Good stuff. This one is not looking bad either - the sun just showed itself, so I'm about to head out.

Ahhhh, you're playing Changeling. Yeah.

*hugs sympathetically*

It's okay. I mean, I didn't know exactly what we were going to be playing, but considering that the guy running it had been fanboying over Changeling for months, I really should've guessed. He's actually thinking he shouldn't be the one running a C:tL game, though, partially because the players were a bit distressed and partially because he wants to play now. He would like to pass it off to me; if I do run it, though, I'm going to have people make characters from the Kiths in the core book, characters that do not have Dual Kiths and maybe use one or two merits from other books, but that's it for a while. That's how I ran my SR4 game. As tempting as it is for me as a GM to throw in lots of stuff from other books, I can't really jump in that fast and keep my grip. And I'll ask for new characters, not avatars.

Some games might work with avatar charaters. Mage: The Awakening could work. So could Mummy: The Resurrection from oWoD (and I'd love to try it sometime, avatar character or no, because I've read about that concept and I really like it.) But C:tL would have to be very, very delicately handled to work under those circumstances.
