More Endwalker reactions. I'm at Travelers at the Crossroads now (lv. 87.)
This isn't as organized as my last attempt as I haven't been keeping as many notes.
- The conversation with Urianger on the moon - well, conversations - were very heartwarming, and would certainly serve as a reminder to my WoL why he liked Urianger so much before the incident with the Warriors of Darkness back on the Source. It might even server to be an impetus for the two of them to make some sort of amends. (Baroouse cannot keep secrets, and he is horrible at lying, even when lying is required; his father taught him that integrity and honesty were everything, and so the idea of keeping secrets from allies and friends... it hurt a lot. Especially since Urianger was the first of the Scions that he really befriended. And also, he knew how badly hurt Urianger was after Moenbryda died but he just... couldn't bring himself to reach out, and he blamed himself for a large part of it, so that didn't help.)
Anyway, I'm glad that he finally spoke up about it, that he learned something from his experiences with Elidibus and with the Exarch.
- The entire sequence with the Final Days in Thavnair was heart-wrenching. (I did figure out the identity of the boss Blasphemy almost immediately - I knew that sequence with the merchant had to be important.)
- Look, thematically I get why the Satrap died, we can't save everyone, et cetera, but c'mon, you're saying my Lv. 90 Dancer couldn't have taken that beast's arm off - or at least hit him hard enough to distract him - before it killed the Satrap?
- Matsya is a great character. I was horribly afraid he'd die, and very relieved when Vrtra found and saved him and the baby. (I don't know what comes of the baby yet - I haven't gotten through the unlock quests after this point.)
Nidhana is also such a good character (and I think I want to see her in a relationship with Y'shtola now.) I may be biased, though, since I just love elephants and elephant-people so much.
(That poor family in Vanaspati, though...)
- For the first time since meeting that character, I was relieved to see Fourchenault in Radz-at-Han. I sincerely thought that the Forum was going to save themselves and the rest of their city to take care of their repository of knowledge, and leave the rest to die. Not very fair of me, I know, but... well. I've heard too much about real-life billionaires for the thought to not occur to me.
- Look, I don't know about any other WoLs but Baroouse has been keeping up with Feo Ul in his dreams, he wouldn't give her a chance to get that angry at him. :D
- Got back to Elpis, and Hythlodaeus is just as much of a fun guy as I expected him to be. Although it broke my heart (and my WoL's heart) a little when he talked about how his own real dream in life is to help Emet-Selch and his other friend (obviously Azem) reach their potential. Emet-Selch, meanwhile, is definitely a bit of a grump. And Hermes... I get it, after seeing what happened with the creations he had to help put down. I do. I can see why regaining the memories of who he was, after living his life as Amon, would've broken him. But I'm sure there's even more to it than that.
- Meteion is adorable and I know she's going to end up being an antagonist somehow.
