Think of this as a pre-goals post, maybe.

Going to the university again means having more options available to me.

- I can use the fitness center to work out, if I want. I haven't decided; walking back and forth is still hard enough that I'm not sure it'll really help any more than that. But it's a good idea, at least for the future, to get back into lifting weights. I feel better when I do that.

- During the semester, the music practice rooms are limited to students, not necessarily music students. So I could theoretically use them to practice piano again. It's been a long time since I've seriously tried to play piano. I tried to practice on keyboard, when it could receive power (for some reason none of the AC adaptors I tried work on it anymore,) but there's not really room for it in the house anymore.)

- There's art, of course. I definitely want to keep working on that. I just need to make the time for it, and find out where my box of art supplies went.

Those are all wants. Things I need to do are below:

- Make a follow-up appointment for the examination that determined that I was not, in fact, going to die of cancer.

- Get my eyes examined. This one's hard - I'm terrified of having foreign objects near my eyes, which makes some of the tests they do difficult. But I have a family history of eye problems. I need to be sure, even if it means asking my SO to take off work for a morning and hold my hand through it.)

- Clean the damn house. Seriously, I need to do some laundry, and we need to come up with a system to get it put away when we wash it. Not sure why that's hard.

- On that note, clean the house in general enough so that they can wash the carpets. After the leaking of the AC unit for several weeks, it really, really needs to be done.

- Study, of course. Do well in school. This term's not turning out to be too difficult. Next term might be harder, but the real challenge begins when I get to the fall term and start studying the core computer engineering courses.

I'll figure out something more cohesive tomorrow. For now, it's nearly time for class.

Does your uni gym have a swimming pool? That might be a good, low-impact kind of exercise that wouldn't hurt joints as much but would help strengthen muscles, etc.

Something else you might want to look into is whether your gym has free classes for students? It might be another way to keep yourself busy/get out of the house and do something without paying money, plus ideally a little bit of social reward thrown in? Idk.

Ugh, I have the same problem. I actually enjoy doing laundry because we didn't have a washer and dryer until last year. But I usually end up going "okay, that basket is clean clothes, and that pile is dirty clothes". It at least keeps shit sorted.

I have the opposite problem. -laughs- But yeah, I get the "god, just ask us" thing. I about had a heart attack when my Mom went "What would you like for your birthday?" So I was actually able to give her my size, so I got not only clothes, but clothes that fitted. (Mom tends to assume that I'm like 2x bigger than I am. -.-)

My roommates about died too. We have a holiday ritual called "what random shit did Rachel's Mom send for this holiday?"

Eye exams are hard work - I have to really push myself to go to them, too.

Seconding the pool suggestion - I'm rehabbing a knee injury (and have arthritis as well) and it has entirely been worth hauling myself into a bathing suit for aqua aerobics. Very much helped with pain relief and regaining movement.
