Talking Through December

owlmoose was posting about this. I thought I might give it a shot, since I want to post here more often again.

The Meme:

Pick a topic, and on some day in December I will post something about that topic. It can be fandom-related or not. Pretty much anything you've ever seen me post about unlocked, or comment on in other venues, is fair game. If a topic is uncomfortable for me (too personal or potentially identifying) or simply something I know very little about (unfamiliar canon, say), I may ask you to make a second choice. If you want to request more than one topic (say, up to three), feel free, but if I get more than 25 or so requests I may pick and choose between them.

This is gonna be pretty informal. I can't guarantee I won't skip a day or two and catch up later (especially during Finals and the holiday rush.) But I'll try.

Also, if you come from another site and don't want to make an account here, you can leave your user name like so:

Replace the square brackets with triangular ones. When I remember the HTML to show plain text I will replace it.

Also, apparently I tried to do this before, but more specifically fandom-oriented. So I'll throw some of these in if I don't get many requests:
- Shipping with rare/unusual pairings, and why I always seem to end up doing it.
- Corollary to the above - But what are your thoughts on polyfic?
- Encouraging small fandoms to exist and/or grow - how?
- Loving villains - for their villainy, or despite it?
- Thoughts on various shipping styles - OTPs compared to shipping one character in multiple relationships, multishipping in general, and so forth.
- Tabletop fic - when is it fanfiction and when is it original fiction?
- The hunt for active fan communities/the difference between finding fandom and finding other fans
- Community moderation: The "I" in community
