Hobby heads-up of various sorts:
- YT nominations are starting up soon. The downside this year is that people will be limited to three nominations per person. I... can see the logic behind this, honestly! Every year I've done YT there've been a huge load of fandoms that people nominated because they liked them but didn't actually request, and the ticky boxes sort of collapsed in on themselves last year because of sheer volume. I mean, I can understand the concerns about it being more difficult to match people, too; we'll have to see how it goes, and whether or not I even participate this year. (It's usually a last-minute thing, and I think that it will depend on whether or not SO decides to play this year too.)
- I mentioned this on one journal, but not this one. So a few friends got together and decided to make a hub for game-fandom anonymemes (although anonymity is optional) that has a wider focus than most of the others that usually pop up. sidequest, and it's open for fun times. And right now, first and foremost I think, we need prompts. So if you're interested, stop by and leave a few in one of the posts that's up, or if you don't see the fandom you want, feel free to make a new one! (I know that someone was saying that they were going to go through and add more FF games. I had been keeping a running tally of fandoms elsewhere, but it'll have to be updated tomorrow, after tonight's bogus journey is over and I've had a nap.)
- NaNoWriMo is coming soon! I'll give it a shot this year, since I have a computer, and an idea that I'll probably stick with. It involves two humans and an alien being on a journey through a post-apocalyptic semi-intelligent mushroom forest. I should really figure out how it ends before November, though.
That's probably it. I've been doing a reasonable job of sticking to writing goals, I think, considering the circumstances. x_x
