I don't get tanks who refuse to either mark CC targets or allow others to mark CC targets for them, even when ASKED. I've run into a couple of these guys in randoms already and they just boggle my mind, because why wouldn't you want some of the pressure taken off of you if you're tanking?

On one hand, I'm glad to see that using CC is back in vogue. One of the things about Wrath that irritated me was that no one used them anymore and everyone expected the tank to be able to hold groups of five or six mobs all at once. I got yelled at for not tanking more than three mobs at a time when I tried to tank, which is part of the reason I haven't tanked in so long. But now with the way things have changed, I might try it again.

But I've actually had pick-up groups with tanks who will not mark targets. And marking targets helps, because otherwise we don't really know what the tank wants to kill first.

I realize that I, personally, am not much use on my main for CC, unless we're in Grim Batol; my only CC works only on beasts and dragonkin, unless you count Entangling Roots. Which we've used to good effect before, on melee-only types, but it takes a little more care because it doesn't last so long. But there's almost always at least one shaman/hunter/mage in the group, and if that's the case then there's no excuse not to use it.

(I suppose that I would segue here into musing about whether or not this strict division of players/talent specs into roles is a good thing or not, but I've got to go to work, so maybe later.)
