This Vicious Cabaret - Post-canon V for Vendetta (comicverse) fic, centering on Rosemary and her fate after the book ends, with lots of excellent OCs as well.
I really liked the fact that the author managed to do what I really wanted - give Rosemary some agency and allow her to become her own person after the end - without making her into someone she wasn't. She didn't become a hero or a warrior or a big crusader; she started helping to establish the new world order, but in a fairly small way. But she did it in a way that she chose, instead of letting others choose to make her into a big hero and a symbol for their rebellion. And really, it was fitting for who she was, for what she did during the story. She was taking a small, sincere step instead of taking a big step that would have required being a totally different person and depending on others. And really, the whole point of the story is that she didn't want to just be dependent on others; she'd been that her entire life.
So, yes. I enjoyed it and I recommend it.
I had meant to make a rec list of stories that weren't for me, but I don't think I'm going to have time before the reveal this year. There are just too many, and the archive is too slow to browse through the fandoms I have even a passing familiarity with. And I can't really run a guessing game, because I only wrote one fic and it would be like finding a needle in a pile of slightly different needles. So maybe next year, if I can actually do the "write lots of Treats" thing I keep hoping to be able to do. :)
