Whew. It's been crazy, but now finals are over and I have a chance to rest and catch up.
On a side note, I want a Squishable Sea Pig. So silly and cute.

squeemu asked: Talk to me about music and its role in your life! (is it important to you, do you need it for writing? or is it distracting? etc.)
It's always been pretty important to me! It helps me focus (as long as I'm listening and not trying to sing along, heh.) I always have my CDs in the car because listening to the music helps me drive. I don't know that I really have favorite artists anymore; it's a song-by-song thing now, I think. My tastes are nothing if not eclectic.
As far as writing goes, it's not as inspiring as it used to be. There was a time when most of what I wrote was directly inspired by some song or another; now my ideas aren't directly informed by the music anymore. I still like to listen to it while I write, though!
It's helped a lot this semester while I was studying, too - although if I'm studying, more often than not I will pick songs without words, so that the words don't distract me. (Video game soundtracks are always good.)
...this isn't as long as I hoped, so here's a few links to songs I've been listening to lately.
Quest for Glory 4 (full soundtrack)
Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth (Full Soundtrack)
Scissor Sisters - I Can't Decide (NSFW lyrics; almost everything else by these guys is also my jam right now)
30 Seconds to Mars - Hurricane (alternate version, feat. Kanye West)
Redbone - Come And Get Your Love
Chris Cornell - Enemy
Angie Aparo - Hush
Erik Satie - Gnossienne #1 (Played by Pascal Roge)
