Glitch is closing.
It makes me sad, because for all that I'd only been there a few months, I'd never seen a community embrace the idea of actually helping each other so much, while at the same time not wanting to give everything away to people who just wanted handouts. And I really liked the game, I liked the open-ended nature of it and the amount of stuff that you could learn.
The FAQ that I linked to pretty much lays out the idea that if there was anything that they could do - anything at all - they would've done it already. So there's pretty much nothing that they can do at the moment to keep it going, according to the FAQ. (There's some talk on this thread about it, as well.)
I'd like to think that in the future they might be able to resurrect it, since apparently part of the problem is that Flash is particularly high-maintenance for this sort of thing, and a new platform would help a lot. I suppose we'll have to see. For now, the game's running until December 9th, and then it's gone. I might hop on from time to time until then. Holiday season's starting up, so we'll see.
