Since I finished the last one, except for the one where I didn't recognize the characters, let's try it again.
The first TEN people to comment in this post get to request that I write a drabble of any pairing/character. In return, they have to post this in their journal, regardless of their ability level. (Feel free to modify exactly what's being requested according to your skills.)
As for fandoms, I'll try anything that I'm familiar with. So if there's something not on this list but that you know I'm familiar with, feel free to ask. These are the most common ones lately: FFIV, FFVI, FFVII (original game or AC,) FFVIII, FFIX, FFX, Valkyrie Profile (Lenneth and Silmeria - must get CotP, argh,) Star Ocean 2, Skies of Arcadia, Brigandine and Dragon Quest VIII.

pleiades: SO2, Dr. Lantis, "It is by coffee alone I set my mind in motion."
2.
crankyoldman: SO2/FFVII, Cloud+Claude, "Where are the heroes"

In other news, been working on an original story again lately... I've been meaning to talk about it here, since it's very personal for me, but I haven't been able to. It's very allegorical. But my next post will be about that, or at least my next DW post.

Date: 2011-10-03 02:41 am (UTC)From:Claude still enjoyed a lot of old video games, even though they weren't nearly as flashy as the new stuff. He didn't care about the graphics as much - he liked the plots, the sense of adventure you couldn't get from newer games. They were all about the technology, what you could do, what you could simulate using the tech, and that wasn't what he played for.
None of the other guys understood, thought he was crazy for actually wanting to play his old games in 2D, staring at pixels and polygons that only mostly looked like real people. If they did express any interest, well, they'd talk about how much they wished the stupid things would just be remade already, if they were such classics. And Claude would just smile and shrug and keep playing - more for him, he figured.
His favorites were always the ones about big adventures, heros who gathered together a band of people from different walks of life and travelled to save the world from world-threatening evil forces. Honestly, he couldn't help but think about them - the way that people talked about his father's adventures on Roak, you would think that he was one of those heroes. And Claude... well, he wanted to be one of them too, didn't he? As much as he talked about finding his own path, the path that he really wanted to walk wasn't possible outside of those games. Real life didn't have heroes with improbably spiky hair and impossibly large swords and a lot of strange memory problems.
That didn't mean that he still didn't want to be a hero, though. Still... he figured he could do without the memory problems.
