So last night I was jotting down notes and ideas for hardmode, using Write or Die to motivate myself to write.

Long story short, I managed to write a 6000+ word rough draft for the FFIV idea I mentioned before. In one night.

So far, the first draft is all from the PoV of the character who ends up being put in solitary confinement for most of the fic. If I want to get to ten thousand I'll have to include more points of view. Tomorrow night, I'll probably do the same for another PoV and see how I do. And then we'll just have to see if I can edit it into something resembling a coherent story. :D

I was surprised! Especially considering the "stuck in solitary confinement" bit. You'd think it would be hard to get six thousand words out of Kain being in a dungeon, but I suppose not. :D

Of course, the hard part is rewriting. I've always been the sort who can write a first draft in nothing, but then takes forever to edit. I'm going to try to write the other side of the story today after work, or at least lay some groundwork for it.
