thoughts before test

Yes, I heard about the FFVII remake. I'll probably play it at some point, if only to see my favorites with decently-translated dialogue (and I guess the graphical remake is nice.)
It was inevitable. S-E knew there was money in it. Hopefully, if this does well, it'll help finance both new games and some remakes of the older games that people keep calling for. We'll see.

Less than two weeks left of this term. Wow. I would not have been able to handle this back in the day.

The math is starting to make more sense. I'm working more than I should be, though, despite my best efforts. *sigh*

---

I keep getting interested in music again, after doing some study of it. But I wonder... is it a good idea? If I focus more on music, will I do less drawing and sketching? I mean, I could, at least, make a little bit of money selling pet portrait commissions. What's music going to do for me, financially?

I know the finances aren't the point; they're not the point of drawing either, not really. But... I have to think about these things. I mean, there's no point in saying I don't have time when I spend so much time at a computer, or trying to rest, but... I don't know if I have the mental energy. And there's still exercise and homework to consider.

(I remain incredibly jealous of people who can do it all.)

I heard about the remake too. I am fairly nonplussed because I don't have a PS4 and unless they break it out onto other platforms, which they might do, I may not even be in the market for it. However, it is nice to see that they remade it...if only for the money (because I really don't think it was the for the fans).

Good luck with those last two weeks. I know it's been pretty tough...especially with work.

This is me as well...jealous to the max.

I've noticed that SE has ported a bunch of games to the computer. You can already get III, IV, IV: The After Years, VII, VIII, XIII, and XIII-2 all on Steam. So I'm not surprised they're doing this.

Good luck with the next 2 weeks. :)

"doing it all" so to speak I think is a LOT about balance. I go through months where I never write at all, months where I never draw, months where I never play. I just... allow myself to go where my whims take me and try to feel no guilt about it. But... I do feel guilt.

Good luck with your finals!

I am kinda dreading the voice acting tbh. (It's partly cultural. I avoid the compilation stuff and I have a hard time imagining most of the cast having American accents).

I find I pare down as I get older. By a couple of years ago I'd settled with the fact that I could be really kickass good at roughly 2 things in the entire world (writing, taxation) and everything else was just zero-pressure dabbling. Though the latter has mutated lately into some broader Doing Shit With Money stuff. I've been picking up other longtime hobbies again, like skating and telling fortunes, and having fun without worrying about it going anywhere in terms of skill. <--reasons I like getting older. It helps tremendously that I don't have survival pressure at present; branching out/levelling up my career skills isn't something I have to do to be able to breathe.
