The professor was trying to draw a parallel between how much a trained listener could hear about a piece, like how much a wine taster could tell about a wine by doing a few things. Turns out he had no idea how to spell the word, and someone eventually had to search for it. I like this professor; he's a bit of a dork. Not in a bad way.
